This squad very much resembles the out-of-the-codex, box-art, "official" party line GW look for Ice Warriors of Valhalla -- which is probably why it won in 1997.

Painting standards -- mine as well as "society's" -- have come a long way in the last several years, but at the time this was quite a solidly painted squad, ideal for the tabletop.

This squad was taken as an afterthought in 1997, as it was the only completely painted (to any sort of standard) 40K squad that I had at the time.  Much to my surprise, it cleared the top 10, and I was completely surprised when it was placed in the top 3!  Just goes to show -- if you have something that could be entered, just enter it!!  You never know...
