2008 11 March 2008: I've just finished a Bronzeback Titan for the Skorne faction of the Privateer Press game Hordes. Hopefully, it'll get to the client in time for his beasts-only tournament this Saturday (and I hope he wins, too!). Check out the big guy HERE. 7 March 2008: Adding three Warmachine pieces today that I had saved for the Femme Fatale III Contest over at Wyrd Miniatures. Now that everybody knows whose pieces are whose, I'm free to add them to my site, too. First there is an Epic Skarre, Queen of the Broken Coast, that I did for a client that you can check out HERE. Next, an addition to the Khador army in the form of the Alternate Widomaker, HERE. And finally, the Mercenary addition of Alexia Ciannor, HERE. 22 February 2008: Finished up an Ogrun Bokur for the Khador army. Check him out HERE. 16 February 2008: I completed a Cygnar Thunderhead Warjack, and added it to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi and Warmachine galleries. I also got slightly better images of the Defender warjack, which you can see HERE. But check out the Thunderhead HERE. 12 February 2008: I've completed a Cygnar Defender Warjack to go with the Captain Haley I sold last month. The pictures are a pretty crappy, but it actually does match. I'll try and get better ones when I photograph the matching Thunderhead when I finish that, hopefully Friday. Check out the Defender HERE. 24 January 2008: Today I've added an Epic Vladimir Warcaster model to Miscellaneous Fantasy. The fellow who won the Project Rainy Day Khador army asked me to paint it to match. Check out eVlad HERE. 17 January 2008: A friend needed a model for his Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay game. He's playing a (snigger) Halfling Bounty Hunter (chortle), so he sent along this little gem from the fine folks at Heresy Miniatures. He also mentioned wanting a Boba Fett-esque color scheme (after all, is there any more famous-er Bounty Hunter? And no, not Dog...) I give you: Van Halfling (snort)! 12 January 2008: The Captain Haley I finished yesterday is now up for your bidding pleasure on eBay! Go see! Bid lots! HERE. 11 January 2008: I've added pictures of another Warmachine model; this time Captain Victoria Haley of Cygnar. This is one of Privateer Press's earliest models, and it's been hanging on my pegboard pretty much since it was first released. Check her out HERE. 8 January 2008: More tweaking of the web site. I've added a whole new Gallery page that is sorted by Manufacturer, just in case you prefer searching that way. In the process of putting that up, I found a slew of photos that never made it up on the website. Most are ancient history - including the very first Space Marine I ever tried to paint - and many of the photos are not very good, since they were taken ages ago... but out of a sense of completeness, I have added in an Inquisitor Eisenhorn, Chronopia and Warzone models, my Visions in Color 7 entry, a weird lone Beastman I painted who knows how long ago, and a pile of Foundry Norse I painted as part of the last gasp of Brushworks. Hopefully some new painted models can start going up, now that I've got this site update out of my system. I hope. 3 January 2008: I've done a lot of little tweaks to the site today; just little odds and ends that needed sorting out for awhile now. I completed the Golden Demons page so it is now up to date, including adding my latest 3 and getting some pictures up of some Demon-wining Epic models from days of yore. Those can be seen HERE. I also jostled around all the photos in the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi and Miscellaneous Fantasy Galleries so that the newest pieces will be added on top, rather than at the bottom, which will hopefully negate a lot of unnecessary scrolling if you just come to check out the newest stuff. And, finally, I added some pics of Grand Exemplar Kreoss that I did as a quick Christmas commission. You can find him HERE.

2007 14 December 2007: I have painted a rather generic Space Marine Chaplain that can comfortably fit into any Chapter Space Marine army. He's up for sale on eBay HERE. Check him out! Bid lots! Oh, yeah - and he's up in the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery, of course, HERE. 11 December 2007: I've gone ahead and beat up my original Khador miniature - a Destroyer Warjack - so that it matches the new Kodiak. There's also a new group shot, of course, and a new new shot of Irusk's Battlegroup. Check it all out HERE. 6 December 2007: I've added a Kodiak Warjack to the Khador Gallery, and a new group shot on the gallery page as well. Check out the Kodiak HERE. 19 November 2007: The Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery was updated today with a Black Guard of Morr Empire hero from Warhammer Fantasy. Check him out HERE, or click on the picture: 15 November 2007: I added another Alguacil from the Nomads faction of the Infinity game to Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. Check her out HERE. 13 November 2007: The folks at Corvus Belli have an Anime-styled game called Infinity. I've added an Alguacil Hacker from the Nomads faction to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery that you can check out HERE. Check out the Infinity models and game HERE. 8 November 2007: I've completed an Empire Elector Count (Border Prince, actually). He's mounted on a Griffon, but there are also matching models for the dismounted Count, as well as the Griffon without the rider. Check him out HERE. 30 October 2007: Bargain Blister Blowout! I've sorted through my pegboard, and put up a bunch of miniatures I know I'll never paint up on eBay. Might be something you're looking for HERE. 19 October 2007: The Khador Gallery has been filled out a bit, with the addition of a unit of Widowmakers and Warcaster Kommandant Gurvaldt Irusk. 18 October, 2007: Ela'Ashbel, Eldar Farseer, has been put up in the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. She was based on some card art from one of the Sabretooth 40K card games. Check her out HERE. 10 September 2007: I've put up a large, 120-model Tau army up for sale on eBay. Certainly not goden-demon quality, but still a great-looking tabletop army that's fun to play with. I'll be including a painting guide with it so that any future additions can match it exactly. Check it out HERE, and bid often!23 August 2007: I've opened up a new Gallery for my Khador army for Privateer Press's game Warmachine. Right now the army consists of one model, but I hope to have a full 500-point force done by GenCon next year. Check out the Destroyer HERE. 3 August 2007: I've added Lion el'Jonson, Primarch of the Dark Angels, to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. This was my contribution to the Team North America Project for Games Day Chicago, which I hope to have a separate page dedicated to shortly. You can check out Mr. the'Jonson HERE. 18 July 2007: I've completed a commission piece of Captain Garviel Loken, based on the character from the first three Horus Heresy novels. This piece is based on Loken at the beginning of the second book, when the Luna Wolves had just changed their name to the Sons of Horus Legion. Check him out HERE. 29 March 2007: After answering several emails this week alone on how I photograph my models, I felt it was high time to post a tutorial on miniature photography on my site. While I'm not a professional photographer by any means, I'm fairly pleased with how my system works. Check out the article HERE. 23 February 2007: The squad of Dire Avengers I recently completed has been put up for sale on eBay. It is a full squad of 10 Dire Avengers painted to an extremely high standard, and now's your chance to add a spectacular looking, hard-hitting squad of some of the newest Eldar models to your army. Check out their Gallery HERE, and for more info check out their AUCTION. 27 January 2007: A squad of Dire Avengers from Craftworld Iyanden have been added to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. Check them out HERE.

2006 8 December 2006: There is a St. Celestine up in the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery now. Check her out HERE. 15 November 2206: I've finally gotten around to photographing my Tau Army that I use for gaming. Incredible works of art? Definitely not. But they are certainly adequate for the table top. All the finished units I have so far (around 3000-ish points) can be found in their very own "Gaming Tau" Gallery, HERE. 14 Novemver 2006: I have added a Deathwing Venerable Dreadnought to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. Astute viewers will notice that it is done in the same style as the Grand Master and Terminator Retinue done awhile ago. Check it out HERE. 12 October 2006: New Auctions up on EBay! I have four auctions up at the moment - all for Tau pieces. Three of them are Golden Demon Winning Pieces. Click the Thumbnail or description to go to the specific auction: 10 October 2006: I have added a Deathwing Captain and a Librarian Dreadnought Drop Pod to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. Check the Captain out HERE, and the Pod HERE. 20 September 2006: I have painted up the Limited Edition White Dwarf promotional miniature, Captain Sicarius. He can be found in the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery, or you can just click HERE. He is also up for sale on EBay, and you are encouraged to go and bid on him a lot by clicking HERE. 10 September 2006: The NFL regular season opening weekend is finally here! Mini-McNabb says:
7 September 2006: The final Skaven Character has been added to the Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery - The Skaven Warlord. Check him out HERE. Just joining us? Click any of the mug shots below to go to that character's gallery page: 5 September 2006: The fourth of five Skaven characters is now up in Miscellaneous Fantasy. Check out the Warlock Engineer right HERE. 30 August 2006: The next Skaven character is up in Miscellaneous Fantasy - this time a Grey Seer. Check it out HERE. 25 August 2006: I've added two models to the Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery today. A Skaven Assassin, which you can see HERE, and Throt the Unclean, who can be found HERE. They will soon be joined by a Skaven Warlord, Warlock Engineer, and Grey Seer. 14 August 2006: I've just returned from GenCon Indy 2006 - the largest Gaming Convention in the United States. Taught some classes, met some great people - it was an absolute blast. And I'm absolutely exhausted. Before that, I hit Chicago Games Day, where my Imperial Priest earned a Silver in the Open category. In between the two events, I had a good friend over from England for about nine days... SO... if you've been trying to get in touch with me, waiting to hear from me, waiting to receive something from me - it hasn't happened yet. It'll take me some time to plow through the backlog of emails, laundry, paperwork, and everything else - but I ought to be back on track by the end of the week. I figured this would be the best place to put a broad announcement for everyone who is wondering if I've been washed away in the El Paso floods... I haven't. 27 July 2006: A Wood Elf Hero on Stag - The White Hart of Athel Loren, to be exact - has been added to the Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery. Check it out HERE, or click the head below: 22 July 2006: I've finally finished up a squad of Seraphim for my Witch Hunters army. Pics can be found in the Witch Hunters Fast Attack gallery, right HERE, or by clicking her purdy li'l head below: 10 July 2006: My little VASA army is up for sale on Ebay right now. You can check out the five auctions HERE. You'll also notice something a little different there. I have put an auction up for a friend of mine, El Paso artist Robert Stevens. "Merry" is the first in a series of seven twisted, horror-inspired baby doll pieces he has done. If dysfunctional decor is your thing, be sure to check that auction out as well, right HERE. 5 July 2006: A Librarian Dreadnought enters the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery today. It has magnetic arm mounts for interchangeable weapons, and is a generic color scheme that can be used by any marine Chapter that uses Librarians. Check it out HERE. 2 July 2006: I have a new auction up on Ebay - the Wood Elf Highborn I painted several months ago. Check out his Gallery HERE, or go straight to the auction HERE. 29 June 2006: I have added a 1/200 scale model of an Armored Valkyrie from the Macross Saga (Robotech) to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. Check it out HERE. 22 June 2006: The 2006 Games Day Miniature, a Daemonslayer, has been added to the Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery. He was given a larger axe than he came with, and has been painted as a "Golden Demon Slayer!" Check him out HERE. 15 June 2006: The Western Town grows a bit today with the addition of an old shack. Check it out HERE. 14 June 2006: After a few days with the cable out, I am finally able to post some photos of Daphos by Hasslefree Miniatures. He is for the same client as the Shimmer I did not long ago, and they are meant to be twins. Catch him HERE. 8 June 2006: Since I recently painted a brand new Emperor's Champion, it's time to retire my old one. He's led me through a great many battles, and has performed with exceptional bravery and success. His reward for all those years of service? Being sold on Ebay. Check out his auction HERE. 8 June 2006: A new Ultramarines Tyranid Hunter is up in Miscellaneous SciFi. Check him out HERE. 7 June 2006: I've opened up a new American Old West Gallery. Right now it just has a couple of buildings in it, but it will eventually get filled with some Cowboys, Cowgirls, Lawmen, townsfolk, and some more terrain as well. Check it out HERE, pardner. 31 May 2006: Today I have added Bertrand the Monk from Reaper Miniatures to the Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery. Have a look-see HERE. 24 May 2006: I did a "Generic" Imperial Land Speeder Tempest awhile back... Now it is joined in the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery with two squadron mates, done in the same style. Check them out HERE. 12 May 2006: Last September I painted a model for my wife's Birthday. I was saving the pictures for the Sixth Chick Challenge... And then forgot about it for awhile. I don't know what's going on with the CCVI, if anything, and the Warp being gone is not a good sign*. SO... I finally came across the pictures again, and have added pictures of Buffy the Vampire Slayer outside the Bronze (the model is CMON's "Sarah" the Vampire Slayer). Go see her and Mr. Pointy HERE. *It appears that the Warp forums are back online, but all of their previously hosted sites still seem to be lost in the... well, gone. 11 May 2006: Today I've added Malcolm Reynolds, Captain of Serenity, to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. He'll be up for sale on Ebay shortly. Check him out HERE. Captain Mal's EBay Auction: HERE. Bid lots! 10 May 2006: More items have been added to the Modular Magnetic Marine Mayhem collection, including a couple new arms, a body for the Techmarine (with magnetic basing), a lion pelt backpack and a Librarian Familiar converted from a Watcher model. Check them out HERE. 2 May 2006: I've painted 3 more PVC Drop Pods - this time for a client's "Void Knights" Space Marine Chapter. I've added them to the "Drop That Pod!" Tutorial page, along with a quite interesting size comparison... Check it all out HERE. 29 April 2006: A Dark Angels Drop Pod has been added to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. Check it out HERE. 21 April 2006: I've added photos of Hasslefree Miniatures' Shimmer to the Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery. Again, this model will be used to represent a D&D character, a Drow Elf with Psionic abilities that she channels through her sword. Kev White is one of my absolute favorite sculptors, and I wish I had the opportunity to paint more of his work - this was a blast! Hasslefree has a bunch of really fun sculpts - check them out HERE. You can see pictures of Shimmer HERE. 20 April 2006: I've added a model form Magnificent Egos called "The Pilgrim." The client sent me this poem as a color scheme reference, and needed the pistols he carries to represent the Wands that his D&D character has. Check him out HERE. 17 April 2006: Today I have uploaded pictures of a Wood Elf Highborn model. He can be found HERE. 10 April 2006: I've just returned from LA Games Day 2006. I took some pictures of Demon entries and Game Tables, and they can be found HERE. 3 April 2006: I have added a new Emperor's Champion to the Black Templars Gallery. This time, instead of a Commission or EBay sale, this one's for me, and will replace my old and tired EC with his ginormous back banner and huge rock... Check him out HERE. 31 March 2006: I have finished a retinue of Assault Terminators to join the Grand Master of the Deathwing that was completed many moons ago. Check them out HERE! 16 March 2006: Ultramarines! My friend Richard is an excellent painter. He's even won some Demons in the UK Golden Demon competition - and that's hard! He's selling some of his brilliant Ultramarines right now on eBay, via a friend's account. If you like the boys in blue, you MUST check them out: The tanks are just lovely - and oh my GOD the freehand on that Command Squad Standard! Nice stuff, and only about 3 days left on the auctions. Check 'em out! 8 March 2006: I have completed another batch of magnetized parts and pieces... this time a Chaplain. I have consolidated all of the Modular Marine Models I've done recently into a single gallery, including the new pieces. It can be found HERE. 14 February 2006: Miscellaneous Sci-Fi receives a new addition today in the form of an Eldar Wraithlord from the Ulthwé Craftworld. Great fun to paint (and a welcome break from all things Marine-y), but lemme tell ya - I see another gem on a model in the next few centuries, I'm throwing it across the room! Check it out HERE. 1 February 2006: I have added a Buzz Lightyear Space Marine to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. This model was great fun to do; a welcome departure from "gravely serious" gaming models. Check him out HERE. 24 January 2006: Nearly forgot to upload some pics of a Sons of Fenris Marine I did as a Christmas "Escalation League" gift. Read about it in the Sisters BLOG, or go straight to the pictures HERE. 23 January 2006: I have added a Modular Space Marine Librarian to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. Check it out HERE. 19 January 2006: Drop Pods are a really cool tactical option for Marine armies, right? And only 30 points each, right? So why in God's name are they $80.00 a piece and only available from Forge World?!? I've built and painted some inexpensive alternatives, and wrote up an article on how I did it in the Modeling section. These Drop Pods cost about $5.00 each. A much more attractive price tag! Check out the article HERE. 12 January 2006: A generic Space Marine Land Speeder Tempest has been added to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery today. The client wanted it usable with multiple armies, so the nondescript color scheme and generic Imperial markings allow it to be fielded with Dark Angels (Ravenwing), Iron Hands, Black Templars... or any other Chapter with a predominantly black color scheme. Check it out HERE. 6 January, 2006: I have added a female Brettonian Paladin to the Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery. Check her out HERE. |

2005 22 December 2005: Repentia, a Palatine, a Sister with a Flamer... I've added new stuff here and there in the Witch Hunters Gallery, which you can browse HERE. Or check out the BLOG, with the link to the left. 19 December 2005: I have completed a Modular Dark Angels Hero. The client has magnetised upwards of a bajillion arms, backpacks, and heads to make this tri-color hero usable as either a Grand Master, Chaplain, or Librarian. More arms and bodies and heads and backpacks are scheduled down the road, but the first batch of interchangeable bits is up in the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. Check him out HERE. As I post this, there's just about 2 days left to go on the Emperor's Champion auction. Check it out HERE, and help me have a Merry Christmas by bidding a lot! 16 December 2005: I have finished an Emperor's Champion that will go up for Ebay Auction shortly. Click the thumb below to go to his Gallery page: Check out the Auction HERE. 1 December 2005: Whoa! Unbeknownst to me, the Waywatcher Lord I painted for the Works of Heart hurricane relief effort has gone up on Ebay! Bid it up nice and high, and help some folks rebuild! Check out the Auction HERE. As of this update, there's only 3 days left! 22 November: Another commission is finished, and hits the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery today. Check out the Ultramarines Tyranid Hunter HERE. 11 November, 2005: I have added a "Recipes" section to the Painting page. I get two or three emails a day asking what colors I used on different models, and consolidating the recipes into a single page will save me from typing up the paint lists time and time again! It opens with just three recipes so far, but more will get added as I find time. If the page gets too overcrowded, I'll eventually have to organize it by color, with different pages for each. Check out its humble beginning HERE. Also today, I have uploaded pictures of a Dark Angels Captain that will be going up on eBay this evening. This is the classic 1990 Dark Angel Captain, and is actually made of real lead, not "white metal," tin or pewter. Check out the blast from the past HERE. 8 November 2005: Gabriel, Grand Master of the Deathwing has been completed and joins his Watchers in the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. Check him out HERE. 2 November 2005: I have made some changes to the Commissions page. The biggest change is the addition of the Project Queue link so that clients may see where in line their projects are, to give them some idea of when they will be finished. How do you get in the queue? Once the details of the commission are worked out, a 10% down payment and the cost of any materials is due before your project can get in line. 28 October 2005: Well, it's back to work now. I'm working on a Deathwing Grand Master project, using Marneus Calgar as a basis for the model. He is accompanied by two Watchers in the Dark, bearing his Helm and Sword, and those two little dudes are finished. You can check them out HERE, as they await their master to be completed sometime next week. 23 October 2005: We're in! Our move was successful (read: nothing got broken), and we are finally getting back to some semblance of normality. In celebration, I've added a bit about the Templar Cross to my brief Black Templar painting tutorial, since I get so many email questions about it each week. Have a look HERE. 7 October 2005: Today I have added pictures of a Wood Elf Waywatcher Lord. This piece will be going up for auction shortly, as part of the Works Of Heart Campaign miniature painting effort for hurricane relief. If you haven't heard about it yet, click that link and find out about it! 100% of the proceeds of this auction will go to assist hurricane victims through MissionFish. As soon as I have a link for the auction, I will make sure to post it up here; otherwise keep checking Works of Heart. Check out the Waywatcher Lord HERE. 28 September 2005: Added a Blood Ravens Force Commander to the Blood Ravens Gallery. Check him out HERE. This is the last bit in this batch of Blood Ravens, and I move on to a Deathwing Grand Master next... 12 September 2005: Updated the Blood Ravens Gallery with their new Razorback APC. Check it out HERE. Also, the 500-Point Battle Report from the Escalation League is up - just follow the BLOG links! 18 August 2005: I have updated the Blood Ravens Gallery today with a squad of Scout Snipers. Wraithlords beware! Check them out HERE. 13 August, 2005: The MiniVault Yard Sale! I have 100 Auctions up on eBay, after purging my miniature racks and boxes full of miniature hobby stuff I've collected over the last two decades. If you are a collector and have a chronic case of Figmentia (and who doesn't?), I'm sure you'll find something you like in there somewhere! Check the auctions out HERE. Bid lots. Thanks! 3 August, 2005: Today I added a Blood Ravens Land Speeder Tornado to the Blood Ravens Gallery. Check it out HERE. Battle Reports for the first two 250-point games of Sisters vs. Space Wolves should be coming shortly! 31 July, 2005: The Heavy Support section of the Witch Hunters Gallery opens with a small squad of Retributors; check them out HERE. A Blood Ravens Land Speeder will appear next week, followed by some Scouts. It's good to get back to that lovely Red and Cream after all that endless sea of Blue... 27 July, 2005: I've re-opened the Witch Hunters Gallery with the "Troops" section now that the first squad of Battle Sisters has been completed. You can check out the girls in the BLOG, or right HERE in their own new gallery. 26 July, 2005: More Black Templars today for the same client. This time they're all troops... I've added Initiates with Plasma Guns, Flamers, Missile Launchers, Power Weapons, and a bunch with the standard Bolt Pistol and Close Combat Weapon. You know, if I had kept all these Templars, I wouldn't have to sweat out getting the Sisters finished on time... I swear I've painted at least 1500 points for this guy! Oh, yeah... BT Troops Gallery HERE. Up next: More Blood Ravens for the Blood God! Oh, wait... that's not right, is it... 18 July 2005: I have painted up a squad of "Fire Angels" Space Marines for a client. The models were assembled and converted by the client, and sent to me for a Gaming Quality paint job that he wanted in the style of my recent Game Qulaity Templars, with a few modifications to the scheme. Because of the client's insane patience in dealing with me over the course of the Blue Tau project, I did go a bit farther than a typical Game Quality job, adding details like the freehand cross on the back of the one marine's cape. They can be found HERE. You may also note a wee bit of re-arranging on this Home page, and the addition of a shiny new BLOG button! I have begun a bit of an Escalation League with a fellow gamer in El Paso, and you can track my progress there. In typical BLOG style, you'll need to start at the bottom and work your way to the top where the most recent additions will appear. Not having published any of this so far, it actually begins with 5 entries... Hmmm... But now that it's all in place, I will publish updates as they occur, so check back often as I have monthly deadlines to meet, so need to work on stuff every week. You can check the date of the most recent update right there to the left. Of course, this necessitated the relegating of the old Teal Sisters and their matching Inquisitor to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery, leaving the Witch Hunters Gallery empty at the moment... but that will change soon as this army builds its way up in 250-point blocks up to a full 2000 points or more. Please note - if you are interested in contract work, the most I will consider accepting is a 10-man squad, and prefer single miniatures. No more Armies for this man! I learned my lesson. 11 July 2005: And now for something completely different... I painted up a set of the plastic crashed Aquila Lander terrain from the Battle for Macragge boxed set. It's in the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery, or go directly to it HERE. If you like it, it's up for auction on EBay. 2 July 2005: Today I have begun an auction for these Sisters of Battle I painted a year ago. I'm actually beginning a sort of "Escalation League" with Sisters, but have decided to go with more "typical" colors of Black and Bone, rather than... Teal. Go figure. Get it? "Figure?" Aw, nevermind... But if you're interested in taking a peek, just click that "Ebay Auctions" link on the left, there. Feel free to bid them very high, to give me a week or two off. 29 June 2005: Interested in some vintage, out-of-production Grey Knight Terminators? I found five complete models in my collection, and know I'll never paint them - click on Ebay Auctions to the left, and check them out. 26 June 2005: Today, the final images for the Bork'An Tau Army contract have been uploaded. The Army is now complete - Finished - DONE!! Today I have added the final HQ squad - another Shas'O with bodyguards and gun drones. Check them out in HERE. I've also managed to get an adequate group shot of the entire army which can be found on the main Bork'An Tau Gallery page HERE. It's something like three-quarters of a Megabyte, so I apologize to any dial-up visitors. To those of you who have sent me emails, commission requests, questions or comments over the last two weeks: I will be responding to you in the coming week, now that this big Monkey is off my back. And now... I'm going to crack open a beer, and paint something that is NOT BLUE! 17 June 2005: The first HQ squad is now complete with the addition of two Bodyguard Crisis Suits. You can see the new additions, along with group shots of the team, HERE. 10 June 2005: Completed the Elites section of the Bork'An Tau by finishing 3 more Crisis Suits armed with Burst Cannon and Missile Pods. Check them out HERE. 8 June 2005: Added the two Shield Drones that accompany the first Shas'O, located in the Bork'an Tau HQ Gallery HERE. 7 June 2005: Today I have added the second and final installment to the Troops section of the Bork'an Tau Gallery: Another unit of 6 Fire Warriors that you can check out HERE. 26 May 2005: I updated the Bork'An Tau Gallery today with the other two Hammerhead Tanks in the army. This finishes off the Heavy Support selections of the contract, and you can check them out HERE. 9 May 2005: I have just put up my gold Golden Demon-winning Eltharion up for auction. Please do check it out HERE. Today I also have uploaded some pictures of a quickie Black Templar Dreadnought ("Reinys") I did over the weekend, in their Elites Gallery. 20 April 2005: I have put up an auction for Lanyssa, Nyss Sorceress from Privateer Press. This model won Second Place in the Fifth Annual Chick Challenge in the Club Challenge category. Alas, it's time to get back to work on the Tau contract. Appropriately, I began with another unit of Drones, found HERE. At least it gives me a sense that I'm finally getting somewhere - The Fast Attack choices are done! 13 April, 2005: I just returned from the Los Angeles Games Day and Golden Demon Competition, and was fortunate enough to win 7 trophies and the Slayer Sword! I won 5 Golds and 2 Silvers, and my Blood Ravens Librarian took home the top prize. I've updated the Golden Demons section of the site to include them all. I met a lot of great folks at Games Day, and was lucky enough to be asked to help judge the staff competition, along with Will Hayes from Forge World. We had a great time, and congrats to James Bell and his beautiful Lysander model that took first in the Staff Single Miniature category. And I don't care what you heard... that Eric Sarlin (Editor of the US White Dwarf) is a damn fine fellow! I have also added Eltharion to the Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery. I am not very pleased with the quality of the photos, so hopefully Dirty Steve was able to get some better shots in L.A. 3 April 2005: I've opened the HQ section of the Bork'An Tau Gallery today, starting with the first of 2 Shas'Os in the list. Check him out HERE. He'll be joined eventually by a couple of drones and 2 bodyguard. I've also put up some pretty lousy pictures of an Ogre Ninja I painted. Gotta figure out some better lighting for this fatso, but in the meantime you can see him HERE. Finally, I have added pictures of my entry from the Fifth Annual Chick Challenge: Lanyssa, Nyss Sorceress, from Privateer Press. She was lucky enough to earn a second place in the competition, and you can see her HERE. 16 March 2005: Finished that Hammerhead I promised in the March 4 update. I'm shocked and surprised at how long the sucker took me to finish... there's just way too many panel lines and detail! I've also discovered how poor I am at photographing large models like this; I'm afraid the shots just don't it justice. At any rate... check out the Hammerhead in the Bork'an Gallery HERE. 15 March 2005: One man's trash... Doing some Spring Cleaning around my studio, I came across several old painted models that I really have no place for. I've put several Warzone and Chronopia models up on eBay, as well as a WHFB Beastman Champion. They were all painted somewhere between 1996 and 1999 or so, near as I can remember. Most are starting at $1.00, so please check out the auctions HERE. Also, the painted and completed Chick Challenge V minis have been posted, and there's about two days left for anyone and everyone to cast votes and comment on the entries. Check out all the beautiful paint jobs HERE, and perhaps pick up a few of the commemorative limited-edition minis for the event while you're there, to help ensure that there will be a CCVI! 4 March 2005: I have added the second Crisis team to the Bork'an Tau Gallery today. This time they are armed with Burst Cannon and Missile Pod, as will the third group of Crisis suits. I also took some better photos of the first team, so that all the pics will match now. Check them out here. Next thing to enter the gallery will be the first of 3 Hammerheads! 27 February 2005: New updates for the Bork'an Tau army today. I've added the first Fire Warrior Team to the Troops gallery, and the first Gun Drone Squadron to the Fast Attack gallery. As well as unit shots, there are individual pictures of each Fire Warrior, and of one of the Gun Drones as well. Check them all out in the Bork'An Tau Gallery. Also, it's about time for the world-famous Chick Challenge V entries to go live for voting. Have a visit to this wonderful Gentlemen's painting competition, and (soon) place votes for your favorites in each category. While there, why not check out the selection of limited-edition miniatures that commemorate this great event! See it all at Jason Moses' True Believers site, here. 13 February 2005: Many updates today! First off, I receive a lot of question about how I paint my Black Templar Space Marines. The various ways I have tackled these models over the years have now been compiled into a short article in the Painting section. While not a step-by-step tutorial (which one day I hope to get time to do), it does answer most of the commonly-asked questions I get each week. Speaking of Templars (sort of), I have added pictures of two models I painted for Christmas 2004. These were sent to two Moderators of the Bolter & Chainsword forum who are serving with US forces in Iraq, Brother Severus and Brother Tyler. Check them out in their B&C livery here. Next up is some progress on the large Tau project I have been commissioned for. First up, new in the Modeling section is a tutorial on how I changed the standard Fire Warrior shoulder pad to have the Bork'An sept symbol rather than the Tau sept symbol the pads come with. Check it out here. I took nearly 4 weeks just to clean and assemble all the models for this army, but the scraping, filing, and gluing is finally all done, and I was able to move on to actually painting some models this week. The thumbnail below shows the gigantic pile of plastic that will be the army; Click it for a large pic: The first squad I decided to complete for the army was a Crisis Suit team with Missile Pods and Fusion Blasters, found here. As the army features no less than 15 Crisis Suits, I figured I better get started with some of those. Check back each weekend for the continued progress of this massive undertaking in the new Bork'An Tau Gallery. Incidentally, that shot above of all those Tau models on my desk give a brief glimpse of my new paint racks. Click the two thumbs below for other views. I made those a few weeks back on a Saturday from some cheap one-bys and hardboard (masonite, MDF, whatever...) using my extensive collection of woodworking tools (A circular saw, power drill, and belt sander...). They won't win any beauty contests, but all my paint finally fits on my desk, and just about doubled my working space by getting rid of the spice racks I was using. 13 February 2005: Right, Well... My last news post was obviously made before the game. Still, they put up a darn good fight, and it wasn't the blow-out most radio personalities expected. I'm proud of them, and they'll be back to the Big Show next year! 6 February 2005: Go Eagles!! Fly, Eagles, Fly! Hit 'em Low, Fly, Eagles, Fly! 5 January 2005: The Holidays are over (I hope yours were merry and/or happy as appropriate), and I'm back to work. Today's update includes two Black Templar Predators I finished before leaving for my Christmas vacation. The Mk IV Forge World kit was very nice, and the standard has interchangeable turrets and sponsons for it to be configured as either a Destructor or Annihilator. The client was murmuring about using magnets to hold the sponsons in place, but I think the fit was pretty darn tight just using friction. Check them out at the bottom of the Black Templar Heavy Support Gallery. Coming up next is a whole slew of Tau models. 15 Crisis suits, 3 Hammerheads, and 12 lonesome Fire Warriors. |
2004 16 December 2004: Blood Ravens Dreadnought "Caedus" has been added to the Blood Ravens Gallery. Check it out here. 13 December 2004: The next Tactical Squad of Blood Ravens makes its appearance today in the Blood Ravens Gallery. Check out Squad Pontius here. 6 December 2004: I have completed the first squad in a Blood Ravens army commission. Squad Gaeus can now be found in the Blood Ravens gallery, and will soon be joined by another squad and Dreadnought of the 5th Company. 18 November 2004: Added pictures of a Dark Angels Mortis-Pattern Deathwing Dreadnought (now that's a mouthful...), done on commission, to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi page. 11 November 2004: Today I have put up for auction a squad of 12 Tau Fire Warriors. These were painted just after the initial release of the Tau some years ago, and since my entire color scheme for Tau has changed, it's time to make some room in the cabinet! 9 November 2004: Updated the Black Templar Fast Attack Gallery with a Land Speeder Typhoon done on commission. I have also added a "For Sale" page where I will be placing minis that are, naturally, for sale directly. If you are interested in any of the pieces from the For Sale page, simply drop me an email. 5 November 2004: Added a Black Templars Land Speeder Tempest to the Templar Fast Attack Gallery, done for a client on commission. 3 November 2004: Today I have added a "Display Quality" commission piece I just completed: A Blood Angels Venerable Dreadnought. 29 October 2004: Uploaded pictures of the new plastic Captain and Command Squad miniatures, due out soon in North America. I assembled them with no conversions or alterations, to show off the new models in their "pure form," and painted them up in Blood Ravens regalia. In fact, with so many Blood Ravens now and more on the way, I've given them their own Gallery now! 18 October 2004: Added my first Warhammer Fantasy Battle model in some years: Valten, Champion of Sigmar. While I have done the occasional Mordheim figure, this is the first WHFB figure I've completed since the 18,000 or so points of Empire I painted in High School and College... So it's been about 10 years. I think you'll note that he looks remarkably like Fabio posing for some sleazy romance novel cover... At any rate, he will appear on eBay some time tomorrow. 16 October 2004: Today I have added an Ultramarines Dreadnought to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. It was painted for the Dreadnought contest at the Bolter & Chainsword Forums, where it placed 2nd in the Moderator entries. It matches the drybrushed, tabletop style of the Ultramarines Squad I painted a little while ago, and will be going up for sale on eBay shortly. 14 October 2004: Thankfully, I have been very busy with Commission work, which is why I haven't had any auctions or updates in awhile. Some of my recent contract work can be seen in the Black Templars Troops Gallery, 24 economy-style Black Templar marines with Boltguns. Also up today is a Display-Quality commission piece, the Iron Lich Asphyxious from Privateer Press' Warmachine game. Watch for a Space Marine Dreadnought to hit eBay in the next few days, as well as my first Warhammer Fantasy piece in a long, long time -- Valten, Champion of Sigmar (first incarnation). 25 September 2004: It's been a few weeks since I updated, as I have been working on a commission piece, a Blood Ravens Librarian, which is now complete and up in the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi gallery. 9 September 2004: Not much of an update; I have repainted a horribly ugly metallic silver sword on a LOTR Arwen model, and posted the new pics in her gallery. She is also up for sale on eBay. 29 August 2004: Up in the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery today is the brand new Limited Edition Witch Hunters Gunslinger Inquisitor. I'm really happy with this one, and hope you'll check it out on eBay as well. There's still one more day on Kommander Sorscha, and the Ultramarines still have some time as well. 25 August 2004: Today's update is a Tactical Squad of Ultramarines, in the new color scheme with the new markings previewed by Games Workshop in their Sneak Peaks section. Get ready for the Battle of Macragge and the 4th Edition of Warhammer 40,000 by checking them out on eBay! 23 August 2004: Added the Khador Warcaster Kommander Sorscha from Privateer Press' Warmachine game to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. She was begun for last year's Chick Challenge IV, and never finished until this weekend. She'll also be appearing on eBay shortly. 13 August 2004: Today I have finally posted the Commissions page. Please check it out, and feel free to contact me if you are interested in commissioning a piece!
9 August 2004: Today I have added a Blood Ravens Space Marine Veteran Sergeant to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. Look for it to hit eBay tonight!
27 July 2004: I have added a Basti Warrior from Crocodile Games to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. She will also be hitting eBay this evening! Look for a "Commissions" page soon! 21 July 2004: Big news today... Not only have I added a new model to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery, a Limited Edition Space Wolf Wolf Priest from Games Day 2003, I have also added a new link on the left for EBAY ACUTIONS! I will be painting a number of models for sale on Ebay, so if you like what you've seen in the Galleries here, go check them out! I'll be starting off with the Wolf Priest from today's update. 14 July, 2004: Finished up 5 Sisters of Battle battle, found in the Witch Hunters Gallery. They certainly have an annoying amount of little details for 11-point models! Check them out here. 25 June 2004: A small addition to the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery today: Donovan McNabb, Space Marine. Feeling sad about no football going on, I've built and painted a Philadelphia Eagles model out of a Space Marine. Check him out here. 12 May 2004: Tonight I have added a new specimen to the Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery, the new Mordheim Witch from GW. This guy just oozes character, and I had a lot of fun painting this stock, unconverted model. 2 May 2004: Today I have added a Witch Hunter Inquisitor to the brand-new Witch Hunters Gallery. The pictures did not take as well as I had hoped, but I still hope you enjoy the model. 5 April 2005: The last few months have seen me working on an entry for a painting contest at the Bolter & Chainsword forum. The object of the contest was to paint up a 40K in 40 Minutes force, for which I decided to paint up 500 points of Daemonhunters. The force consists of 7 Grey Knights, 10 Inquisitorial Stormtroopers, and an Inquisitor joined by an Autosavant and Gun Servitor. Check them all out in the newly restructured Daemonhunters Gallery! 24 January 2004: Finally got around to another update. I have added a new gallery to the Galleries page; the Miscellaneous Sci-Fi Gallery. I moved the Dark Age Forsaken Coil into this Gallery, as well as adding a Fenryll Space Girl that I painted for the Fourth Annual Chick Challenge. I have also added the CCIV Chick to the Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery, a special sculpt by Steve Buddle that was commissioned for the last Chick Challenge, and I painted up for the event.

2003 6 December 2003: It's been quite some time since I've updated! Finally, I bring you an update that should have been posted months ago. In the summer of this year, I joined three other painters in Baltimore for Games Day, followed by the Origins convention in Columbus, Ohio. Jason Moses found a pack of four French Legionnaire Frogs from Flintloque, and we all went home and painted one up. The Frogs have all been added to the Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery. Go right to the Frogs page here! 20 August 2003: Small update this time; a miniature I painted for another of the Moderati at the Bolter&Chainsword forums. Sword Brother Jeramakus is the limited edition Black Templar marine from the time of Codex Armageddon, and the BT boxed army. Check him out in the Black Templar HQ Gallery! 20 July 2003: Taking a break from all things Slaanesh for awhile (OK, well not ALL things...), I've begun work on yet another character-based idea. I'll be doing an Inquisitor and his retinue, and I've just finished the model for his first henchman, an Interrogator ("The Acolyte"). I took photos as I went, so I've written up an article on his creation that includes several of my techniques, tricks, and tools for messing around with Green Stuff. Check it out in the Modeling Workshop! 2 July 2003: I've returned from a two-week road trip that included attending Baltimore Games Day as well as the Origins convention in Columbus, OH. I managed to bring home 3 painting trophies from each event! I entered six categories in Baltimore, and was very pleased that all of my entries passed the first cut. Three of those went on to win trophies: My Slaanesh Rhino with Warp Amp earned a Gold in the Vehicle category, and my trio of Slaanesh Characters, Ophelia Anekh Sum'aht, Yngvie Al'Ca'ar, and Moag Wotan, also won a Gold in the Open category. Strangely, the squad of Tau Fire Warriors I took along as an afterthought made first cut -- and then won a Bronze! I cannot honestly say that it was a Daemon-deserving squad, and really had intended to use it at the Origins contest, but it just goes to show that you never can tell what the judges are looking for... But please check out the winners in the Golden Daemon section! At Origins, I received First-Place trophies in Sci-Fi single for my Captain Stern conversion, Fantasy Single for my Rackham Hunter of Darkness, and Vehicle for my Tau Shas'O Battlesuit. The event was billed as having "Great Product Prizes..." yet all the winners received were some trophies. Considering that last year's Origins contest had $75 cash prizes for first place, you can imagine that it was a bit of a let-down! Still, it was nice to meet some of the Mini-Painter list folks, and our car-load of painters (Myself, Andrew Lum, Jason Moses, and Joel Patton) managed to walk away with (I believe) 9 trophies from the event. We were going to drink beer out of them at the hotel, but alas -- the cups were not water-tight! 14 June 2003: Another of Ophelia's retinue is finished. Check out the Sorcerer, Yngvie Al'Ca'ar. 10 June 2003: Finished off the first of the Chosen of Sum'aht: Moag Wotan. View him in the Slaanesh Gallery. 7 June 2003: Just added some pics of a model I finished here... 6 June 2003: I'm adding a new "Painting" section to the Contents over there on the left of your screen. The first item in there is a little diary of how I decided to clean, assemble, and paint an entry for an online painting contest in 6 days -- a conversion of Brother Captain Stern. Check it out here. 5 May 2003: Cinco de Mayo! Just a small update right now, as paint work on the Rhino continues (Base hull colors are done! Yay!). I have uploaded some fluff on Uthaire Kazaan do'Avlar, Court Composer to House Sum'aht (and the guy you see playing the organ in the rhino). 21 April 2003: To prove that I have indeed been working on that Rhino, I've uploaded some WIP shots. I completed the interior, and several of the loose bits like speakers and bolters... So all that's left is the main body of the tank! Click HERE to go to the Slaanesh Gallery page, or jump right to the Rhino pictures by clicking HERE. 30 March 2003: Small update this time. You may recall my Slaanesh Lord, Ophelia Anekh Sum'aht. You may also recall that she had a banner pole sticking up out of her back that didn't go to anything... Well, I've finally painted something on the banner, and have updated her gallery. Check her out HERE, or go right to a close-up of the banner here. 9 March 2003: Almost two months without an update... Egad! The Slaanesh Rhino is still in the painting stages; but it was disrupted briefly as I worked on an entry for the Legio B&C Space Marine Contest at the Bolter & Chainsword Forum. I have added pictures and a write-up of the model to my Black Templars HQ Gallery. The good news is that the entry was good enough to win second place! You can view all the other contest entries here, and the forum Moderators' entries can be seen on this page. Now back to work on that Rhino... 11 January 2003: First update of the new year! Well, I did not get the Rhino completed before my holidays were over -- it became quite a project in the end! But now it is finished being built, and just needs some paint. Got to the Modeling Center, or click here to see the unpainted personal Rhino transport of Ophelia Anekh Sum'aht and her retinue!

2002 27 December 2002: I have placed gaming information up for members of Ophelia Anekh Sum'aht's retinue. At the bottom of each Chosen's biography page is a link to their gaming information, which will open in a new window. Work continues on modeling members of the retinue. I am currently working on her transport, and hope to have it completed before my Holiday vacation ends. 24 December 2002: Happy Holiday greetings to all! There are now unpainted pictures up of the next two members of the Chosen of Sum'aht: Yngvie Al'Ca'ar, the Sorcerer, as well as Brock Sum'aht, the slow-minded muscle-bound bodyguard. Gaming information for Ophelia Anekh Sum'aht's retinue will follow later in the week. Merry Christmas! 8 December 2002: A new look (sort of) and some new content. Thanks to CoolText.com for my spiffy new MiniVault logo! I've cleaned up some of the useless links; when I actually have some content for them, they will come back, but until then, there's no sense having dead links in the sidebar! In the meantime, there is a brand-spanking-new Slaanesh section that opens up with some background information on my Chaos Lord and her closest followers. Check out the Chosen of Anekh Sum'aht! There's also some unpainted, WIP shots of one of the chosen, Moag Wotan, in the modelling section. No article, just some pictures. 18 November 2002: Introducing... Ophelia Anekh Sum'aht, the Exquisite Tormentress, Chaos Lord of Slaanesh. This was my entry for the Third Annual Chick Challenge, and now that the voting is done, it is time for her to be unleashed upon the world! In addition to the painted pictures linked above, I have put up a modeling article about her creation. Comments always welcome -- just hit the Mail Me button! 12 November 2002: The completed, painted pictures of the entries have been posted for the 3rd Annual Female Miniatures Painting Challenge. Go check it out, and vote for your favorites. Lots of great stuff, and obviously some well-known mini painters have participated. Voting closes on Sunday, so hurry up! 10 November 2002: Major Update today! The Golden Demons section nears completion. I have put up pages for all of the winners, with the exception of the two Epic detachments. Have a look at all the new pictures! In other news, the Third Annual Female Miniatures Painting Challenge is in full swing. Famous as the "Chick Challenge," the before pictures are now up, and will soon be followed by all the wonderfully painted after shots. Once the completed pics are uploaded, be sure to check them all out and vote for your favorites! The Chick Challenge is hosted by expert miniature painter Jason Moses; check out the rest of his site here. Lots of great work on that there website! 12 October 2002: I have opened a new section on the site that covers my Golden Demon winners. This will get updated over the next few weeks as I get more photos taken, but we open the section with this year's winner -- 1st place in the Duel category. 5 October 2002: Second Update today! Rackham's Hunter of Darkness appears now in the Miscellaneous Fantasy Gallery. 5 October 2002: The move is complete! MiniVault has moved from WH40K.com to its own home at PowWeb. Please update your bookmarks with the new URL: www.minivault.com The good news is that the Tau Catfish modeling article is now up, so you can finally access that. Next time I promise to take in-progress photos, though! If you notice any broken links or pictures, please contact me right away about the specific problem. I think I've fixed everything up since the move, but we'll see... 2 October 2002: Just a quick update: In the next few days, the contents of this site will be moving to a domain of its own -- www.minivault.com!! Sit tight for the link to actually work... 24 August 2002: Well, it seems I have run out of room here. The Catfish modeling pages of last week never got uploaded, and it looks like this page will have to find a new home shortly. Watch this space for a new address (or, possibly, the good news that I got more space here). 18 August 2002: I have opened the Modeling section with its first article, which covers the creation of the Tau Catfish. 14 August 2002: I have updated the Troops section of the Tau Gallery, including the addition of a new 6-man team of Shas'la in the new (and final) color scheme of the army. 11 August 2002: I've uploaded a HUGE article on choosing a Tau army list in the Tau section, under "Shas'ar'tol Datafiles." I've repeated these things over and over as people ask for army list reviews, so I've placed them all here. More Tau tactics articles will follow eventually. 7 August 2002: In the Galleries section, the Miscellaneous Fantasy gallery opens up with two pieces; Arwen Evenstar by Games Workshop and Amynthas the Huntress by i-Kore. 3 August 2002: The Tau section opens. More content will be continually added, but for now the Glossary is online, as well as the first VDR entry. 28 July 2002: Whew! Lotsa updates this week. Today sees more pictures added to the galleries; Namely, the Tau Catfish, Tau Y'eldi Hunting Rig, and my Studio and VASA galleries open. I've also neatened up some layout issues, changed some fonts around, and have hopefully standardized the colors across the pages. I've also changed the name of the site after an inordinate amount of crass anatomical jokes regarding the old name. Never you mind what it used to be. 27 July 2002: The Links section is now open and the Necron Gallery opens with a few new pics. 25 July 2002: Opened the Dark Age Gallery with my first painted Dark Age model, a Forsaken Coil. The whole range is pretty amazing so far, and everyone should check out the brand new game Dark Age. 20 July 2002: Site Launch! Hosted by WH40K.com, the quite incomplete MiniVault opens. Black Templar and Tau Galleries are online. 19 July 2002: Began work on MiniVault. Frustration Abounds. Perhaps the site will go live sometime in 2047. |
