In 1997, John Blanche was one of the Daemon judges, and like his artwork, he prefers miniatures that are highly textured.  First and second place went to severely drybrushed Scavvy gangs, which is only right for Scavvies!  The sharp lines of this gang were a stark contrast.

There are only 6 members in this gang, despite my best efforts the night before the awards in the hotel room to get the last two models finished... alas.

What I didn't notice at the time is that every model -- apart from the Telekinetic Wyrd -- is converted in some small way, even the limited-edition bounty huntress, Bonnie Annerson, who had a gun swap for a Chaos bolter.

To balance the previous year's Coke can on the Escher gang, this year Pepsi made an appearance.  Unfortunately, even with corporate sponsorship, I still only get 1000 credits for a starting gang...
