These three models represent some of the best work I have done to date, so I was very pleased that they not only placed in the Open Category, but took home the Gold!

Originally I had intended to do 5 members of the retinue to bring Ophelia's squad to the Slaanesh sacred number of six, but simply ran out of time.  Creating a small base for them, I decided to enter them as a "Slaanesh Trinity" instead in the Open Category.

The Open Category is always very tough, because "anything goes," and you never know what great ideas some people will have.  I am very proud of this award in particular, because there were some just phenomenal entries, including a frighteningly life-like Amethyst Familiar submitted by Jennifer Haley.

The base is simply a rectangle of 4mm plasticard, with a 1mm sheet of plasticard glued to the top that had holes cut out to accept the bases of the models.  Woodland Scenics Fine Ballast was glued down, and static grass added in patches, and painted the same way as the models' bases.  The oogie red pool was painted right onto the plasticard, and then given three layers of thick clear nail polish, being careful to match its edges up with those on Ophelia's base.
