The Symphonic Technocrat, Engineer of Empyrean Elation

The Technician

            Moag Wotan is the weapons-master for Sum’aht’s growing legion, repairing, maintaining, and even creating the weapons, armor, and equipment of her legion.  It is believed that he was once a student of the Adeptus Mechanicus, and quite probably a Techmarine of the Emperor’s Children before its corruption, although other facts seem to hint that he may have been a tech-priest on Exultan II, corrupted and gifted in the same way as Ophelia herself.

            Moag indulges greatly in the pleasures of the flesh, but does not have the lithe physique associated with many of the followers of the Prince of Pleasure.  He has soft, milky skin, bloated and sagging; the result of indulgent gluttony, and an aversion to strenuous physical exertions.  Instead, he has honed the talents of his mind and the dexterity of his fingers, and is extremely gifted in areas of technology.

            Wotan employs myriad technology from every corner of the galaxy; whether human or xenos in origin, or even spawned of the Warp itself, he has no qualms or compunctions.  While it is no surprise that a student of the Mechanicus is adept at repairing and maintaining all manner of equipment, it is said that Wotan has actually created new technologies, and built engines of destruction from scratch, without the aid of an STC.  Such heresy cannot go unpunished, and the Adeptus Mechanicus sorely desires the opportunity to lead the interrogation of this criminal.  It is he who has been charged with the death of the Forge World Minoris Ferrus Secundus, where the Spirit Engines of a thousand Imperial war machines were simultaneously corrupted.  The renegade machines, including tanks as well as Titans and super-heavy vehicles, proceeded to destroy everything on the planet within the week, and then began blasting their way into the crust of the world, until their massed fire reached the burning core itself, annihilating the planet in a spectacular nuclear fireball.

           In battle, Moag Wotan has been seen wielding various abominable creations.  He favors the sonic weaponry commonly associated with the Noise Marine cult, but will have no less than a half-dozen other ranged weapons on his person at any given time, and wreaths himself with ammunition belts, grenades, and other items of pain, death and destruction.  His greatest threat is from a distance; when the fighting becomes close, he fades to the rear, and lets the other Chosen of Sum’aht protect him while he supports from the back.  While this may seem cowardly, his expertise and marksmanship are not to be underestimated.
